Time at the park

Hello everyone!
What a hot day we had today.  The heat brought us outside and into the park! We had a blast after putting together our portfolio.  Don't forget to bring back your reusable bag and all the items you need for your afternoon at the sprinklers...I hope the weather doesn't keep us inside this time!

My nephew came to visit us today!

What a nice surprise it was for the kids when my little nephew showed up today!
My mom and dad came to PDC today so that my students could finally meet Max, they are wonderful parents and grand-parents too!
The students were excited to see him and he was happy to see them too...although not at first:)

Our visit to the Tsiionhiakwatha/Droulers archaeological site

Our visit to the site where the most important Iroquoian village discovered in Quebec lies.

Circa 1450, approximately 500 St.Lawrence iroquoians established a village near the La Guerre River in what is now the municipality of Saint-Anicet.  More than 500 years later, a local farmer by the name of François Droulers found a howel dating from the 15th century. Following this discovery, archaeological digs uncovered more than 150 000 artifacts over an area of 13 000 square meters. These archaeological digs led to the reconstruction of the village on the site itself where the fascinating history of the Iroquoian way of life is put on display.

We visited the village, its longhouses, traditional garden and its Kionhekwa exhibit. We had so much fun!

Fun before the rain

Today (Friday June 8th) we were able to go outside and do some work before the clouds rolled in and the rain kept us inside!

We will be visiting the park more often this week...don't forget your towel and water bottles!

p.s: although dandelions cause many of my allergies, I stopped to take a picture of it and despite my sneezing attacks it just looks so beautiful, I wanted to share it with you !

Kiosques Super-Biscuit
