School is so much fun!

What a way to welcome our students to a wonderful school year!

We had fun husking corn

We enjoyed eating it too!

We released Dorito (Notre papillon) :

Our caterpillars in class are working hard at turning into something more beautiful!  The chrysalis (or pupa) is the transformation stage within which the caterpillar tissues are broken down and the adult insect's structures are formed. I think we will be releasing more butterflies very soon!

We played dodgeball:

I think we are going to have a wonderful year!

Have a great week-end!

Math Centers

I introduced Math Centers to my fifth grade class today.  The kids loved them!  Math Centers provide an opportunity for students to practice and apply skills and strategies taught within the classroom. While students are engaged in purposeful centers, I have the opportunity to work individually or with small, flexible groups to meet the individual needs of my students.

Stay tuned for pics of my sixth graders enjoying more challenging games:) and of PDC's welcoming activities!
Have a great evening!

Les Sciences avec Mme Sanche

Amazing things are happening in our classrooms! We are raising butterflies in Madame's Sanche's class.
We will experience the transformation of a few tiny caterpillars into beautiful adult butterflies!  An amazing educational experience that everyone will remember forever!
Today we prepared our little critters, left them next to yummy leaves, so they can munch over the weekend!

Stay tuned to see what happens!
