We celebrated I love to read all this week at PDC! We took part in many wonderful activities:
- D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) for 15 minutes every day. We brought our comfy blankies and pillows to read at a cozy spot in our class.
- We swapped books with our friends, to share the wonderful stories we have read.
- We had the author Suzanne Reisler Litwin visit our school and read her book "The Black Velvet Jacket". We loved trying on the velvet jacket too:)
- We also swapped our teachers so that we can experience the different stories they love to read. yours trully visited her babies, now in grade 6, to read them the book The Dot. A very powerful and beautiful story that teaches the wonderful lesson of Leaving a positive mark in the world.
- This morning Miss Santilli took some time from her very busy schedule as vice principal at West-Mount Park elementary to read us the story Diary of a worm (via the web). I love technology! Thank you Miss Santilli, the munchkins thought "that was just awesome!"
We finished our week-long celebration with cookies and chocolate milk...and some salsa lessons:)
