Outdoor Classroom Initiative

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Starting Tuesday, May 22nd, Ms. Santilli and I will be launching an outdoor classroom trial.  We will be conducting a portion of our afternoon session outdoors in an attempt to escape the sometimes oppressive heat in the classrooms.  To that end, we are asking that you send your child to school with a towel that they may lay out on the grass to sit or lie on.  We also ask that you kindly label the tag with their name so that there will be no mix ups.  The towels will be folded and rolled up in their lockers when they are not being used.

Some of the children have asked if they can bring in a clip board from home to help them have a firm surface to work on outdoors.  We have no problem with that.

We do ask that you make sure that the children have a reusable water bottle with them though - we will not be letting them get up and wander to the club house on their own for a drink.  Instead we will fill up our water bottles before heading to the outdoors.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Thanks for all that you do!

Miss Lopez
