April is World Autism Month, an annual opportunity to start a conversation about autism spectrum disorder. Autism touches more than 70 million people globally. Approximately 1 in 66 children and youth are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Canada and this number continues to grow. It is so important to recognize it. Diversity is present everywhere in our daily lives. It doesn't simply mean understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences but accepting them and praise one another.
Thank you to all of my sixth grade students for being amazing during this walk. You are all amazing individuals!
