A new school year!
Dear parents of students in class 303,
Welcome to the new school year. It is going to be a great one, I am sure. I have been looking forward to teaching this wonderful group of children and have been planning all summer for their return. Grade 3 is a very important grade. We gently help them along the journey to the increased expectations and self-reliance required in cycle 2. They seem to change so very much during this year.
In our classroom, we will be very busy with lots of hands-on activities, collaborative projects, creative writing in both English and French; math and language games, and spelling lessons. This year we will master the basic multiplication and division facts. Daily reading at home will be expected in both English and French, as will monthly book projects. All written work must be completed in cursive handwriting. Of course, each child will be working at his or her own level and that continues to be appropriate.
Students are expected to be in uniform attire every day. They may need a bit of reminding at first. Plan now for the cooler weather and make sure your child has a school jacket or sweater and long pants.
We are all very lucky to belong to Pierre de Coubertin School. I truly believe in our approach to education and the benefits we brings to our students. I am so happy to be teaching this class. If you’d like to get in touch with me contact me at school or email me at mc_lopez2003@yahoo.ca. I look forward to hearing from you, have a great school year!
